Salem Little League Scholarship

Who is Eligible? 
 - Graduating high school seniors (class of 2024)
 - Must have played in Salem Little League for at least 3 years and be enrolled in a Junior/Community College or 4 year college/university.

 How to Apply? 

- Write a letter to Salem Little League, and include the following:

- What did/does Little League mean to you?

- Where are you going to school?

- What are you planning on studying?

- What are/were your extracurricular activities and/or hobbies?

- Have you done any community service?

       -  Letter should no more than a page.  These are letters of application, not résumés. 

- Must receive letter by Monday, July 8,  2024 via email.   If sent via USPS, letter must be postmarked by Friday, July 5, and received by Monday, July  8, 2024.

- You will only be notified if you are awarded the scholarship

- Scholarship to be awarded August 3 at our League Family Day (rain date of 8/4).

The scholarship committee (consisting of Salem LL Board members) will review all applications with the full SLL Board for discussion and award selection.  Any board member with a family member applying for the scholarship will not be involved in the decision making process.

Due to fundraising constraints in 2020 and 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and exponentially rising cost to run our program during this high inflation period, scholarship award amounts will be less than we would like to offer. 

The total amount awarded will be determined by the SLL Finance committee, while who is awarded and how much of the total they are awarded will be determined by the Scholarship Committee.
