• We'd like to end up with a 12-year-old team(s), an 11-year-old team (s), and a 10-year-old team. Maybe even multiple teams per division. THIS IS SOLELY BASED ON THE NUMBER OF KIDS THAT SIGN UP AND WILLING COACHES. If we must combine ages, we will try and only combine 2 years together, meaning 11s would combine with 12s. 9s would not play higher than 10s. If we only have one team for all age groups, it will be 9-12. We typically have 2 teams, a 12 and a 10.
• Must be born between 9/1/11 and 8/31/15.
• Major Baseball rules apply, including dropped/uncaught 3rd strike.
• These are PLAYER PITCH divisions, open to those players who played Minor or Majors in the Spring of 2024, or a new player who is Little League age 9 or higher. THERE IS NO COACH PITCH/FARM DIVISION.
• This is not an all-star tournament, all abilities are welcome.
• Starts after July 4th and will be done before youth football. 10 games per team, 5 home, 5 away.
• The top 2 teams in each division who collect the most money for the Jimmy Fund may or may not play a one-game championship- it is not based on record. You can be 10-0 and not be in the championship, you can be 0-10 and be in the championship. It is based on money raised ONLY.
• Can have multiple teams per division if there are enough coaches and enough players.
• In some past years, we have asked the city for a permit to tag again, with 100% of the proceeds going to Jimmy fund donations. Date TBD based on city approval. Players are strongly suggested to fundraise for Jimmy Fund on their own as well.
• In 2023, the Ten-year-old teams played on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. The 11's play Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. The 12s are fit in between.
• There is no playing up or playing down- a 10-year-old will play in the 10-year-old division UNLESS there is a headcount reason to move someone up. Nobody can play down. An example of a headcount issue- The 10-year-old team has fourteen 10-year-olds, but the 11-year-old team has eleven 11-year-olds. We will move one or two tens up in that situation only.  
• Our goal is to have bigger rosters than normal- 14 or 15 per team, as we know people have vacations planned.
• Salem entries will play other District 16 leagues (Peabody, Lynnfield, Saugus, Swampscott, Nahant, etc.) and perhaps District 12 (Medford, Malden, Everett, Somerville, East Boston, etc.) Away games can be anywhere in those areas.
• Salem Little League will run their registration for this at our costs:  The cost is: $150 per team entered; $300 in umpire fees (1/2 fee for 10 games, the other team plays the other half), $165 in baseballs (3 game balls per game, 10 games, 30 balls at $5.50 each).  $400 in shirts/hats for the team 
  • Team Fee Cost ($150) + umpires ($400) + balls ($165) + $400 in uniforms = $1215. If a 12-person team, that is $92.90 a player, we will round up to $90.00 (plus Sports Connect add $3.00 per transaction)
• Any leftover money, after all, is paid for, will be added to Jimmy Fund donation collections and divided evenly amongst each team's Jimmy Fund donation collection.
• Because this program involves dozens of other leagues, we have a VERY SHORT WINDOW to enter teams. We must tell Jimmy Fund how many teams we will have no later than June 15. Registration will open soon on our website and will close on June 15 at 12:00 noon.
• We need team managers, and team coaches to step up ASAP.
